Soldier

Alexander Ivanov comes to his senses on a medical transport. Around him are many wounded men in the old uniforms of the Red Army. Questions about what, where, and when disappear at once. Yes, it is the USSR of the forty-second year. Alexander’s solution is simple—he wants to fight against Nazi Germany like an ordinary soldier, together with his ancestors. Emerging from the encirclement near Kharkov, Alexander managed to remain in the active army, and in September 1942 he finds himself in a city on the Volga during the fiercest battles.

How will a man of the twenty-first century behave? Can he accept reality as it is and stand shoulder to shoulder with his grandfathers? Or will he run to Moscow shouting that he knows everything?
