I come to my senses in someone else’s body: around me are screams, and on my palms is someone else’s blood. In front of me, the spoiled son of an influential father is raping a girl and is sure he’ll get away with everything. Too familiar a scene.
— Get out of the way, you scum! — I meet him with a blow, leaving him no chance to walk away unpunished.

Except this isn’t the 21st century anymore. I am a streltsy soldier, and outside the window it is the year 1682. Moscow is seething, the tension is rising, and a revolt is just a step away. A time and place where justice can only be won by force.

In my previous life, one such “untouchable” destroyed my family, bought his way out, and walked away from the court. I answered with vigilantism, died—and got a second chance. Now I won’t allow either money or power to shield criminals.

One rule: there are no “untouchables” anymore. If, for the sake of the truth, I have to spark a streltsy revolt, I’ll lead it. If it becomes necessary to topple the throne, I won’t even hesitate.

Peter the Great is still a boy—for now. But I will become his mentor and forge a king who can burn corruption and lawlessness out of Russia.
