The East of the Meekhan Empire is an unsettled place. Here is the border with the defeated, but unbroken, state of warlike nomads. In this region, many “Urlochishcha”—cursed places—are found, where you can run into incredible monsters. Here a free detachment of General Laskolnik—who once brought the empire victory over the nomads—continues its service, fighting threats—both obvious and hidden. And the East is full of threats. Just as it is full of secrets. In the West stands the city-state PonkeeaLa, where the influence of a new war-god cult, Reagvir, grows—whose power heals the helpless and gives sight to the blind.
A young thief Altzin is drawn into an intrigue connected with the kidnapping of the cult’s main relic—a sword that, according to legend, belonged to Reagvir himself. Altzin still doesn’t know what sinister secrets will be revealed to him, doesn’t know how unbearable a divine blessing can be, and, most importantly, what terrifying truth about what gods really are will turn out to be.
