Andrei Prokhorov is mortally ill. So, clinging to the only chance he’s given, he agrees to take part in an experiment to transfer consciousness—and, after preparing, he goes to the past.

He ends up in 1552 near Tula, in the body of a fourteen-year-old boy, Andreyka—the son of a minor landed gentleman. There’s almost no money. The estate has been ruined and left empty by the Tatars. And already a year later, he must be enlisted for service—which he has to go to “on horseback and with weapons”...

Will Andreyka manage? Can he survive and adapt to a new, unwelcoming world?
