The Lord of the universe’s darkest evil was so mighty and malicious that his enemies managed to kill only his flesh. They burned that flesh and scattered the ashes. But no one could destroy the vicious black soul of the demon. They were able only to imprison it in a silver blade, which was hammered into the trunk of one of the Eternal Trees—hoping that over time the blade would become overgrown with wood on all sides and stop causing harm. But the power hidden in the blade was so attractive and desirable that a certain gang of thieves from the city of Veslo managed to steal the blade in the hope of selling it profitably to some sorcerer. That led to very serious consequences for the city and its inhabitants. A hateful spirit falls upon the reckless world, and mortal beings are left only to watch as dark forces fight for domination.
