The city is surrounded by troops with quarantine checkpoints and barriers. But one day, the quarantine is breached by crowds of the infected. The protective belts roll back dozens of kilometers, leaving civilians within the danger zone—people who either didn’t manage or didn’t want to leave along with the cleanup teams. At the same time, a group of scientists arrives in the infected zone at a mothballed scientific center to conduct experiments on the rabid, searching for a cure for an unknown disease. During their investigations, the scientists discover an unexpected circumstance in the appearance of a virus strain—something more like science fiction—requiring further development of the issue. But all plans collapse with the breakthrough of the first quarantine line. The rabid rush deeper into the sanitary belts, and through them, onto uninfected lands. What begins as a threat of a local outbreak grows into an epidemic.
