Vyacheslav Borovskikh created and successfully applies a morally oriented psychotherapy method based on the Orthodox teaching about a person.

He sees the causes of all psychological problems of a person, as well as some physical illnesses, in the spiritual sphere of the person. This is the first of three collections of radio programs about mental health broadcast on the radio “Voskresenye” (“Sunday”). In many issues, the author offers a completely unexpected, sometimes nontraditional, viewpoint. For example, in his opinion, the roots of depression often lie in a person’s boundless craving for sensual pleasures, and attempts to “cheer up” someone who is depressed only make it worse. Smoking is considered not only a physical dependence, but also a source of psychological and spiritual problems. HIV does not exist, and reduced immunity (AIDS) has not only a physical but also a spiritual nature.
