This is the third, final collection of radio broadcasts about mental health aired on the “Sunday” radio station. For many problems, the author offers completely unexpected—sometimes even nontraditional—views. In his opinion, the roots of depression often lie in a person’s boundless craving for sensory pleasures, and attempts to “cheer up” a depressed person only make it worse. Smoking is considered not only as physical addiction, but also as a source of psychological and spiritual troubles.
Part three. The main topics of the third collection are neuroses (and the related topic of depression), and the examination of the Ten Commandments from the perspective of Orthodox psychology. In addition, separate conversations are devoted to drug addiction (“treating drug addiction,” “relatives of drug addicts”), conversations on “how the soul is arranged,” “about humility,” “about death,” “how to meet old age,” “about conscience,” and others. A separate talk is called “The Afghan Syndrome” and is about the psychological problems of soldiers who returned from “hot spots.”
