The Doomed and the Damned

Mar’yana’s life collapsed into a pit along with her beloved sister Jeanne and little niece Dasha, who died during a vacation at the Black Sea: they fell off a cliff and crashed into the rocks.

For some incomprehensible reason, Jeanne’s husband drifted away from his wife’s family, and that caused additional suffering for Mar’yana’s parents. The girl wanted to understand what lay behind the sudden estrangement, and Ilya told her that Jeanne had jumped off the cliff herself—together with her daughter.

As Mar’yana tried to figure out what drove her sister to such a wild act, she became involved in events that couldn’t be explained logically. And soon she learned that her sister and niece weren’t the only ones who died in such inexplicable and terrifying ways. What’s more, this happens every three years, and all the deaths are somehow connected.

The book was also published under the title “The Doomed to Fear.”
