Here nobody forces you into a specific role, a specific race, and a class of character. This isn’t a game. You live in the real world. But there are elements of a computer game here—and you can only “log out” from it one way: by dying. It’s a crazy real world where you’re “born” already an adult, yet you own nothing—not even parts of your body. Still, you do have some freedom of choice and action. Everything will then depend on your character and your ambitions—how well-off you’ll become, how healthy and equipped you’ll be. Will you rot in the mud as a disfigured worm, or in the mornings will you slowly drink coffee in a home-like setting. But whatever you do, you’ll remain willingly lower than others, and you can’t rise above that status.
