Turkey, the early 19th century. The country is shaken by power struggles among sultans, and loyal subjects suffer as a result. Brother and sister Aynur and Ayshe nearly lost their property and home because their father fell out of favor and they were forced to depend on the person their father has left them in the will—someone they must hate. In the harem of the wealthy city man, Ahmed Efendi, there are four concubines from different backgrounds and nationalities. Not all of them are satisfied with carefree life—especially after a savage outsider, the steppe girl Khanar, appears among them. Her thirst for freedom is unstoppable, and her love cannot be bought.
