The Negotiant

A transmigrator who—remembering school chemistry and pharmacology he encountered at work—manages to succeed in inventing and fighting in Abyssinia (apparently the first among the transmigrators), despite all the opposition from the author, who sends him troubles and trials. The final chapter looks tragic, but it isn’t an end to the book—just another test that the main hero is destined to go through.
