The main character ended up in a bad situation. His life is in danger, and a mysterious stranger very convincingly tells him that he’s “not long for this world.” He offers an alternative— to move to another world. The hero has to agree to the offer, and he ends up in a world that exists by the rules of a game.
His companion becomes a kitten that accidentally ends up in the same world with him, Sergeant’s nickname chosen by the hero. The hero doesn’t even realize how important this little pet is for him, because it’s thanks to the kitten that he achieves great success in the new world’s development.
A comfortable life here isn’t in the cards. The location is fully controlled by the Pharaons clan, who lure new players into slavery by deceit, and only “Kuzmich’s Shelter,” lost in the woods, retains the status of an independent settlement. But life there is not easy. They have to constantly repel monster attacks. And Sergeant turns out to be one of those who can not only do that, but also help the settlers use these monsters for their own purposes.
Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. A war with the serkhs threatens peaceful life in the settlement, and the Pharaons’ people are seriously determined to deal with the unruly location. But if you can’t defeat your enemies, why not join them? Sergeant hopes that by entering Pharaon’s service, he will solve many problems— the main one being leveling up so he can cross the magical barrier. Meanwhile, the kitten becomes one of the central figures in the events. As it turns out, it has a lot in common… with Pharaon’s wife. Want details? Listen!
