A German aerial bomb’s shriek “sends back” Marine Corps senior lieutenant Stepan Alekseyev into the future—where he finds himself alongside NKGB captain Sergey Shohin. What should they do next? After all, the first is listed as missing during maneuvers, and it turns out the second died back in autumn 1943 during the liberation of Novorossiysk.
