The main hero, Nik, in childhood repeatedly found himself on the brink of death, but each time he was saved by a mysterious little kitten—who would die, yet later appear again in the owner’s home. In addition, the boy saw strange dreams in which he witnessed funnels leading into other worlds. Growing up, the hero goes to Mount Elbrus with his new home pet—also a kitten. And again the animal saves its owner at the cost of its own life, but this time the boy ends up in a perfectly real funnel and is transported to another world, which will become his new home. What will the hero do, where he has ended up, and what kind of strange baby snow leopard keeps pushing itself as his companion—are what the audio book is about.
