Between Light and Darkness. Book 4

I have not sworn allegiance to the darkness—but I will turn your light into a weapon and become its blade. Sounds confusing? Roughly that is my plan: to restore the lost greatness to my native world and to avenge the deceitful creature-traitor that has usurped the throne of the supreme deity.

I am the last archon of the Order of Equilibrium, an almost ordinary gifted one, unable to shatter the fates of worlds with a single stroke. Which means I will have to search everywhere for new sources of power and gather allies. My gift is to hold equilibrium in any system, to bind opposites—too conspicuous, so I will wear two masks: a boundlessly dangerous dark visage and the image of a bright paladin—the true aristocrat, the defender of the empire, and perhaps even of the goddess herself.

What remains is to understand the main thing: why there is a black void in the sky instead of the sun, why the goddess of demons reached out to me—whom everyone hates—and how it happened that shards of other worlds became an inexhaustible source of both possibilities and threats.
