Magnolia of Madame Bovary

There would be nothing unusual about a teenage girl asking to be taken to her birthday in Genoa to see the statue of Christ from the Abyss—if not for the oddity of the girl herself. Eva—whom Mark’s uncle and his girlfriend Vika, quite reasonably, consider not entirely adequate—doesn’t give any explanation for her actions.

In Genoa, very strange things happen: out of nowhere, Eva dives straight from a café into the water, demands to be given freedom, and in the end… runs away. Mark and Vika, together with their new friend Katya, comb through the entire city looking for the restless girl, and her trail leads to a luxurious yacht with quite suspicious people on board.

On the yacht, unknown people demand from Vika and Katya to provide—nothing less—information… about a secret government operation. And if they don’t tell everything, they’ll face a painful death…
