The next book in the cycle “The Secret Investigation of Tsar Pea” is about the activities of Lieutenant Nikita Ivashov, formerly a Moscow district officer and now—by the will of fate—an investigation voivode at Tsar Pea’s court (the beginning of his career in this capacity is described in the books “The Secret Investigation of Tsar Pea” and “The Plot of the Black Mass”).
This time, the investigation voivode is trying to find out who stole the flying-ship blueprints from Tsar Pea’s secret chest. Meanwhile, all the threads the investigation tries to grasp are cruelly and expertly cut off, and the gloating boyars boast that they themselves will catch the thieves. Nikita’s task and that of his faithful associates, the expert Baba Yaga and the hero Mitka, is to defend the honor of the police uniform and untangle the web of the wrongdoers.
