Peaches for Monsieur le Curé

On a quiet street on the Montmartre hill, Janne and her daughters Rosette and Annie found refuge. They live peacefully—and even happily—in an apartment above their small chocolate shop. The wind that, in the past, constantly forced them to move from place to place has died down—at least for now. Nothing distinguishes them from the other residents of Montmartre, and at their door the red sachets with herbs that ward off evil no longer hang.
