Once, the famous Moscow reporter Vladimir Gilyarovsky managed to gain access to Testov’s restaurant—a place closed to all other visitors—where a well-known Petersburg millionaire, Grigory Eliseev, was indulging in drinking. Joining the entrepreneur, the reporter received an unexpected invitation from him—to visit a grand construction project he had started on Tverskaya Street. Not a single Muscovite knew what was being built behind the high fence, and even less did anyone know that, from time to time, a mysterious Red Phantom wandered around the site… But very soon the phantom began killing random visitors to the construction site, and Gilyarovsky—unwittingly pulled into these incidents—had to find out who this mysterious villain was and who he was taking revenge on.
