Vasily Kriptonov is a versatile science-fiction writer, author and co-author of several novel cycles. One day he returns home and finds that his apartment is on fire. Trying to save his younger sister hiding in the bathroom from smoke, the boy dies in our world and is transported to a parallel world. Still, all the members of a nearly destroyed magical clan place great hopes on the young man. And what he wants most of all is to bring his sister back to life, as he learns she was sacrificed to Fire. It can be done, but it isn’t easy. In the fourth book of the cycle, the hero manages to remove the Fire curse from himself and gain freedom. But a peaceful life is not in the cards. Clan wars reach their peak, and the hero has many enemies.
