Kolovrat. Fate

After defeating Prince Yuri’s force in battle on the Voronezh River, Batu Khan’s hordes move swiftly toward Ryazan. The invasion has begun. Now the vanguard detachments of the Tatars are scouring the lands of the principality. Pronsk is besieged, Belgorod burns alongside Izeslavl. Around Ryazan itself, the ring of encirclement tightens ever more. At the last moment, Prince Yuri sends a delegation for help to Chernihiv, led by his brother Ingvar. With him goes the boyar Kolovrat with a small retinue and a secret order. Too many suspicions fall on Ingvar—he himself wants to become the ruler of the principality. The threat hanging over Ryazan doesn’t frighten the other princes of Rus, busy with their own feuds. Everyone waits. And only Kondrat Zarubin, whose spirit was transferred into Kolovrat’s body from the twentieth century, knows that this is the beginning of the Tatar invasion. Very soon, all of Rus will blaze in fire. The voevoda is sure: without reinforcements, Ryazan is doomed. He has already taken many secret steps so the city can hold out longer. And Ryazan stands under the blows of Batu’s horde, as if protected by immortals. By chance, an ancient secret falls into Kolovrat’s hands—one capable of changing the course of history. The fate of Ryazan is now in his hands.
