Foreign classic literature is diverse and fascinating. We grew up on books by Jack London, Jules Verne, and Arthur Conan Doyle. It was foreign classics that became the founders of detective fiction and science fiction, mysticism and fantasy. Most famous masterpieces have been translated into Russian, but every year new and new works appear—unknown to a wide circle of readers. Therefore, even today, foreign classic literature can delight us not only with books we’ve already read and loved, but also with completely new works for Russian readers.
