To the Last Sea

The historical novel by the well-known writer Vasily Yan “To the Last Sea” tells of the victorious march of the Mongol-Tatar tribes across inhabited lands of Asia and Europe. Once again, eagles ride to the West, greedily aiming to reach the “Last Sea”—the Atlantic Ocean—in order to create an empire from sea to sea. Yet again they get stuck in battles and clashes with the conquered, but unyielding peoples of Rus’. This fascinating book also tells how heroically Kyiv defended itself, and how our state became a mighty shield for Western Europe—blocking the nomads from passing through its lands.
