To the Last Sea

The historical novel To the Last Sea by the well-known writer Vasily Yan tells of the victorious advance of the Mongol-Tatar tribes across the inhabited lands of Asia and Europe. Once again the eagles go raiding westward, greedily intending to reach the “last sea”—the Atlantic Ocean—in order to create an empire from sea to sea. Yet once again they become bogged down in battles and clashes with the conquered but unyielding peoples of Rus'. This fascinating book tells of how heroically Kyiv defended itself and how our state became a mighty shield for Western Europe, not allowing the nomads to pass through its lands.
