A man from 2017 into 1977 worked in a collective farm and returns home to the city of Gorky. At last he formulates what he intends to do (Dr. Badmаev’s theory), sets up the first HOA in the country in his own building, tries to assemble a group of like-minded people, falls in love and loses his love, speculates with coins and jeans, and does many other things—each with varying degrees of success. In the end, it turns out he is left with nothing… not completely nothing— but with a badly battered tub. He tells himself that the battle is lost, but not the war, and he’s ready to continue what he started, already studying at a technical university.
