Severyan Arsenyev is one of those called psychics. While his “day” soul—unsettled photographer Severyan—painfully searches for his place in life, Severyan, every night, drives “entities” out of apartments and houses, earns money so that Severyan’s wife, sooner or later, can leave the job of a bartender, proves to himself and to others that he is irreplaceable—and therefore has the right to exist. The family routine of the Arsenyevs is almost no different from others—until Severyan comes to a girl obsessed, according to her parents, with the spirit of a dead friend, and makes her a promise to find something called “tangle.”
