The well-known French writer Henri Troyat (Lev Tarasov) was born in 1911 in Russia; in 1917 his family emigrated to France. Henri Troyat is a member of the French Academy, a winner of the Goncourt Prize, and the author of numerous novels, among them the trilogy “The Egletier Family” — the most widely read.
