"Editor-in-Chief. Back to the USSR" is a novel by Anton Emelyanov and Sergey Savinov, the second book of the "Editor-in-Chief" cycle; genre: time travel; alternative history.

A continuation of the adventures of a journalist from the 21st century in the body of an editor from the 80s. The Russian journalist Zhenya Krotov, after being caught in a collapse in 2024, finds himself in the body of the editor of a Soviet district newspaper—and now he has to raise provincial journalism to the all-Union level. No Telegram and other “grams.” By the way, about those too—it won’t be possible to get drunk out of sorrow: in the country there’s a crackdown on drunkenness. And what for? If fate gives you a second chance, you have to be a fool not to use it! We pour soda from a vending machine, take ice cream in a waffle cup, put on your favorite record (don’t forget to wipe off the dust) — and you can read.

Author’s note: The hero’s adventures are largely inspired by one of the co-authors’ real work in regional media.
