Diana O’Toole has a clear plan for the future: a successful career, a family with two children, and a large house outside the city. Even though everything seems to be going according to plan, she feels like she has frozen in place. She has a stable job, but career advancement is not in sight. She’s dating the person she loves, but the family hasn’t been formed yet. Diana hopes that during a trip to the Galápagos Islands, she’ll be asked to marry.
But the COVID pandemic disrupts her plans. Finn, her boyfriend, a doctor, is forced to stay in New York, and Diana has to go to the islands alone. Upon arrival, quarantine begins, and she finds herself isolated, with limited communication with the outside world. Forced out of her comfort zone, Diana rethinks her relationship with Finn, her career ambitions, and her past—asking herself whether she’s really living the right life.
The only unclear thing is whether this is actually happening—or whether she’s in an alternative reality?
