Not so distant future. The fall of a huge meteorite onto the territory of the USA near Yellowstone National Park triggered the explosion of an ancient supervolcano that had long gone dormant. As a result of this catastrophe on Earth, an effect of “Volcanic Winter” set in, practically indistinguishable from “Nuclear Winter,” except without radiation. A small group of people continues the fight for survival. Besides battling natural catastrophes, they’re forced to fight for the remaining resources against the “mold” of the human race that has crawled out. Blood, sweat, and tears—this is the lot of the surviving ordinary, normal people. A place in the sun is granted only by exhausting work, mutual support, and compassion for the suffering of innocent victims of this collapse.
