The fall of a large meteorite onto the territory of the United States in the area of Yellowstone National Park triggered the explosion of an ancient, long-dormant supervolcano. As a result of this catastrophe, the “Volcanic Winter” effect came to Earth. A small group of people is fighting for survival.
Survival… survival at any cost is the main task! Which means searching for and fighting over the remaining resources of a once mighty civilization. But getting them is very difficult—any needed little thing is buried under a multi-meter layer of snow, and there are plenty of hunters for it.
What could be worse than eternal winter with one-hundred-degree freezes? It turns out, it can get worse—because there is a rapid warming. Earth’s climate began to recover after the terrible disaster. A fierce thaw set in, melting the snow and ice that had accumulated during six years of cold. The only way to survive is to move closer to the tropical zone, where the snow has already melted. But this journey will be unsafe, because besides nature’s treachery, much more dangerous obstacles lie in the way of our heroes—for example, other people who also want to survive.
