What can you get for doing a good deed? For example, gratitude. Or praise. Or maybe just a good mood. But that is if everything goes the usual human way. But if not... Alexander Smolin, an ordinary Moscow guy working as an average bank clerk, helped what seemed to be a perfectly ordinary old man when he fell ill in the street. True, the help came too late—the old man died. It would seem to be a routine situation. But that old man turned out to be a witcher. And before dying, they absolutely must pass their witcher power on to someone—so Smolin ended up receiving it. And then things really started happening...
