The Concrete Blonde

Los Angeles police detective Harry Bosch is on the trail of the Dollmaker—a serial killer who paints his victims’ faces with cosmetics. During the arrest, Bosch can’t keep his cool and pulls the trigger. For violating procedure, Harry is transferred from the elite unit to an ordinary precinct, and the widow of the murdered man sues him.

And then, during the court proceedings, a note addressed to Bosch is slipped to the duty desk of the police station… from the Dollmaker.
