In 1981, former Colonel Pavel Bugrovsky escapes from a prison colony in Siberia, where he served a life sentence for spying in favor of Western special services. He has information about Soviet agents abroad, including the name of a new FBI employee. Major of the KGB Oleg Kamorin is tasked with finding and neutralizing Bugrovsky, who might pass information to his handlers.
