Swapping spouses, unacceptable in the prudish Russian society, has become commonplace in the civilized West. Life is short and singular; many problems of intimate life cannot be fixed by other methods. The five short stories in this collection are shaped like novellas. There is no moralizing, no inner monologues, and no judgments about what is happening. The author’s thoughts are conveyed through the words of the characters and through their actions. The characters are atypical, yet real. Perhaps the reader will rethink familiar things and see them in a different light.
