Star Raven

Writer Alisa Streltzova is known for captivating stories for younger and middle school children. She is a laureate of the International Children’s Literature Prize named after V. P. Krapivin for the novella “Shishkin Root,” already familiar to our listeners. The book “Star Raven” is a kind of continuation of this novella.

Sergey Shishkin, who found himself from modern Nizhny Novgorod in the 19th century, made friends there with his peer, Grishka Skovoroda. It will be he who is the hero of the new story. Grishka had the misfortune to be transported as well—but not only in time, but also across space. He ended up in 14th-century Siberia in the very place where, centuries later, the city of Tomsk would appear. And Grishka will have to meet local shamans, learn how to shoot a bow, try to find Khan Tuktamysh’s hidden cache, and even take part in a battle with the Horde forces. Listen to the exciting adventures of the hero in medieval Siberia with the whole family!
