Pine’s Creek Indian Reservation is a closed, remote place far from civilization, in whose forests the local sheriff unsuccessfully tries to find a young man who has disappeared without a trace and his companion. However, the investigation is hindered not only by the mysterious circumstances of the disappearance, but also by the residents of the nearby town: they firmly believe that the Indians are to blame, with whom a conflict has long been brewing between them and the townspeople. Private detective Eli Hunter agrees to help the sheriff and arrives in town with his assistant to begin his own investigation. But Hunter’s assistant is also an Indian—and, apparently, this is not at all welcomed in the town.
