In the third book of the novels about Winnetou, Winnetou and Old Shatterhand, Winnetou, together with the old tracker San-Ier, pursues the murderer of the San-Ier family: Fred Morgan. On the way, it turns out that Fred Morgan is involved in a number of other crimes, in particular the murder and robbery of the jeweler Marshall. Together with the heroes, we enter the fight against the robbers in the half-empty Llano Estacado desert, reach the camp of the warlike Comanches, and meet the gold-seekers of Sacramento.
In the second part of the book, Old Shatterhand, with the other tracker โFatโ Walker and Winnetou, save the residents of a railway station from an attack by Indians of the Oglala tribe.
