Gold Fever

"Gold Fever" is a continuation of the novel "Amur Batyushka," for which Nikolai Pavlovich Zadornov was awarded the Stalin Prize, second class, in 1952. The new work tells of a peculiar republic of prospectors, one of many on the tributaries of the Amur, formed by settlers. People driven by dire need went into the taiga to wash gold discovered here in the final decades of the 19th century. This book is about their life, daily routine, and the laws they themselves established at the Amur goldfields.
