After many misfortunes and hardships, the Wanderer managed to find a patch of safety in lands maimed by cataclysms, demons, and mutants. But peace doesn’t last forever—because in the south the Rift has awakened again, from which infernals first entered this world, destroying human civilization. Only this time, something rises from the Rift that even monsters fear—an entity equally dangerous to people and to monsters. And in response to the new threat, Fury—the Wanderer’s sword—comes alive: a living shard of a fallen demigod, possessing its own consciousness. But the warrior no longer wants to go to battle. Then the sword must find a new master and set off with him on the journey—whether the new owner wants it or not. The only trouble is that they both still don’t know that in the world much has changed, and it’s become far harder to understand who is your friend and who is your enemy.
