Anna Forestier, the beloved woman of the famous Commissioner Verhoven, accidentally becomes a witness to a robbery attack on a jewelry store near the Champs-Élysées. Miraculously, she manages to stay alive, but she is wounded, her face is disfigured, and—what’s more—she becomes the target of a manhunt.
