The events of this novel take place right after “The Right Miss.” Alan Goorfield hasn’t yet made it to the United States and is in South America—yet already a letter arrives for him from General Pozos, offering him to leave for a certain villa—there, he supposedly will find well-paid work. When he arrives at the address, Goorfield discovers a company of seven people, including a haughty and hysterical wife of one of the criminal bosses, her lawyer with his wife, a mysterious African man, Onum Marba, a beautiful young girl, and her older brother. It’s obvious that in a company like this, murder is not far off… That’s when this semi-detective, semi-parodic action starts to unfold.
