Andrey No is a young writer working in a complex genre—at the intersection of traditional science fiction and modern intellectual prose. We present, in an audio format, the third book of his historical-social fantasy saga, "Iron".
The Bleeding Canyon is sacred, and its inhabitants follow the higher purpose their covenant has given them. But endless hunger, isolation, and moral decay have long been leading the aboriginals to believe that there is actually no purpose at all—the place is cursed. There is almost no vegetation left, and the rocks seem to have been spilled with blood—so high is the iron content in the ore here. At the Square of Ancestors, a procession of the dissatisfied grows—led by a newly minted rebel who has replaced Venchura. However, some residents of the canyon prefer not to stick their neck out—they’ve already found a way to cross the border ditch and are patiently waiting for their turn. And in addition to the previous difficulties, fresh trials hit the vohityka (sic) career—one more serious than the last, heating up the situation to the point where even iron begins to melt…
