“He’s not here,” a careful voice came from the lock’s speaker—her sister’s voice.
At first I didn’t believe what was happening. How is that even possible? I even took a step back, bumped into one of the boxes, and nearly lost my balance. To keep from falling, I grabbed the wall.
“Vika?” I was confused, but my voice didn’t give it away. “Open the door! My biometric data doesn’t work!”
“I know,” the sister answered. “We changed the codes.”
“What do you mean, ‘we changed’?”
“We did it with Genik. You don’t live here anymore.”
“With Genik?” I blinked.
“Yes. Leave! Don’t dare take him away! You already have everything. And Genik is mine! Do you hear me?”
I heard. And I didn’t know what hit me harder right now: the fact that my own sister is sleeping with my husband, or the fact that Gena has turned into Genik.
