Hot Bloody Summer

World War II hero, a U.S. Marine named Earl Swagger, returns home to peaceful life. He’s offered a tempting proposal: to become one of the leaders of a special squad recruited from young police officers and tasked with restoring order in Hot Springs, a small provincial town where the local mafia calls the shots. Everything seems to be working out—until, after another raid, the squad’s leadership is forced to part ways with Frenchy Short, the most capable in the unit but ambitious and unwilling to follow orders. Seeking revenge, Frenchy tells the mafia about the special squad. As a result, the squad is wiped out—only three survive, including Swagger. Earl is removed from his position and ordered to leave the city. But he’s the kind of man who doesn’t just give up without avenging the deaths of his comrades.
