The Mirror of Veles

A general anesthesia turned Andrey Zverev into a gateway to another world. When he comes to, he finds himself in a boyar estate not far from Velikiye Luki, and everyone here considers him the son of boyar Pavel Lysin. After a brief period of confusion, he tries to apply his knowledge from the twenty-first century in order to gain fame and recognition. But soon Andrey learns that his plunge into the past was not the whim of nature—it was the work of the reclusive sorcerer Lyutobor, who lives in a nearby swamp.
