In the ancient underground dungeons beneath Rosenik, friends witness a strange conversation between two strangers. Then, from the city, Professor Zvyagin—respected by everyone—disappears under mysterious circumstances. Who and why kidnapped a powerful mage? And what does this have to do with the reclusive, closed-off grandson of the main mentor?

The friends begin their own investigation, seeking the answer. All secrets will be revealed during the Green Yuletide. Life in Zarechye will flow as usual: Mitya and Sewa will finally have to undergo the Initiation, and the younger wizards will receive the Runes of Distinction. And then, everyone will be waiting for an ancient celebration in honor of the Summer Solstice. But will it be the end of the story?
