Hunting! Dogs bark, horns blare, snow creaks under the hooves, and accurate arrows fly at game—shot by Pavel Remezov, our contemporary, who, as a result of a successful experiment, ended up in the body of a young Smolensk nobleman.

The hunt turned into human blood—and now you must save your loyal people from death, rescue the pregnant wife and the close ones from the treacherous hands of schemers. Besides, it would be nice to survive yourself, and the only way to do that is to break free from the principality and ride far south, to the Western ulus, where an old friend invited Remezov—a Mongol nobleman, Irchembe-oglan, who needs vassals.

And everything seems to be working out as well as possible—there are lands, people, and an influential patron… only Pavel, himself not wanting to, has crossed paths with a powerful shaman who possesses considerable magical power. Moreover, his suzerain, Irchembe-oglan, sends Remezov on a dangerous and responsible mission to the Horde—straight into the shaman’s hands, a man with crimson stars in his eyes… Pavel is for him enemy number one, a stranger, a man from nowhere.
