Description

After the suppression of the Circle rebellion, the Eighteen’s Black Squad is still in the service of the ominous Lady and continues—moving through the territory of the Empire—to finish off the small surviving groups of rebels.

One day, the squad goes north, to the Juniper, to a чужой city, into an unknown land beyond the Empire of the Lady, with a mission to investigate an unfinished fortress that the locals call the Black Castle.

Grotesque, alien architecture. Monsters grin from the walls, and on the towers giant snakes are frozen in grotesque contortions. The castle grows continuously. And when it reaches the necessary size, its inhabitants will be able to free the Lady’s husband and the former ruler of the Empire—the Lord. If that happens, an even more powerful Evil than the Ten Taken will appear in the world. But that is not in the Lady’s plans. Therefore, the Black Squad must destroy the castle—yet no one can be sure whether they can handle this terrible battle.
